About us.

Bruce Henderson Architects was established in 1976 as a specialist commercial architecture practice. Today, with offices in Melbourne, London and Hanoi, BHA has grown to become a highly diversified design company responsible for impressive projects around the world.

Founder Bruce Henderson, still at the helm, remains as passionate today for the business he began more than 40 years ago, and for delivering functional and elegant design solutions that meet the needs of evolving cities.

Interior Design Practice.

From its beginning, Bruce Henderson Architects has had an interiors team in-house. In 2018, Bruce Henderson Interiors(BHI) became a separate entity to support the vision and values of BHA for clients, and in collaboration with other architectural practices seeking the team’s expert services.

Led by Charlotte Henderson, BHI consistently delivers on client service, commercial viability and a design philosophy to create sophisticated residential and commercial interiors that stand the test of time. Simplicity, balance, proportion and harmony are just some of key principles which BHI adopts for each interior design.

Each project delivers an experience of impeccable quality and timeless design. Able to respond to trends as well as think outside the box, BHI offers clients a unique design perspective and an exceptional result.

Architecture Practice.

Bruce Henderson Architects(BHA)
creates architecture that is enduring, sustainable, elegant and of the highest quality. The practice balances the functional, financial and commercial demands of each project with innovative, creative and considered thinking.

The result is an intelligent approach to architecture featuring aesthetic and performance elements such as space, mass, form, light, colour and texture, all driven by client needs and the context of each site. BHA works with clients to create an inspiring brief, ensuring all design work reflects the character of each project.

Every building design features a site-specific architectural response, expressed through the development of a unique architectural language. The result is a project which is financially feasible, meeting the requirements of the market, incorporating energy efficiency, and ultimately ensuring success for the client.

Master Planning Practice.

At BHA, master planning is all-encompassing. These projects demand strategic thinking across infrastructure, planning, urban design and development.

For each complex master plan in cities around the world, BHA considers social context, physical interaction and economic outcomes. The practice often involves integrating areas of local significance, making infrastructure improvements, working towards effective site utilization and embracing culturally-appropriate urban design.

Complex master planning requires an understanding of a wide range of factors to encourage investment and economic growth in a region. BHA understands how to balance the interests of multiple stakeholders to create successful mixed-use developments with human interaction as the focus.

Critical features of each master plan include access, open space and a blend of public and private amenity for the enjoyment of a future community.
