5-Star Green Star rating…

A SUSTAINABLE WORKPLACE EXPERIENCE

For Emerald House, the boundaries of sustainable architecture were pushed to create an office environment that was as much about quality workspaces as integrating environmental design.

A 5-Star Green Star office experience

The result is an office space that achieves a 5-star Green Star rating in office design with high ESD standards. For the occupants of the five-level commercial building, the working experience was similarly five-star.

Emerald House’s four levels of office space have their own distinct personalities that are expressed via a different interiors scheme on each level. The environmental credentials of the building are augmented for employees by access to expansive outdoor balconies with unsurpassed views of the Melbourne cityscape.

High quality workstations and accessories were selected to enhance employee flexibility, with the option for each space to be personalised.

The building also features three levels of basement car parking.

Smart, sustainable architecture for the contemporary office

The new office’s environmental credentials include grey water harvesting (collection of waste water to be used in flushing of toilets), solar power, a cooled structure and high-performance glass.

Outdoor balconies offer employees access to fresh air, which is known to improve staff productivity and help employees think more clearly.

Architecturally, careful consideration was given to building massing and façade design to enhance the existing street context.
