Rare urban elegance…
DESIGNING FOR THE INDIVIDUAL IN A LUXURY DEVELOPMENT
Brilliant views from every angle, seamless integrated design and homes with individual character and luxury define the Melbourne Village development.
A design response to residential building challenges
The form of this luxury residential building takes a highly considered response to a series of site-specific challenges. These included an irregular shaped site that already comprised several buildings, respecting the heritage significance of some of these buildings, exposure to north and north-west winds, and overlooking a remand centre.
The site also presented significant opportunities, such as unobstructed, never-to-be-built-out views, multiple points of access, and enviable solar exposure.
The architectural solution was to establish a strong podium base that was responsive to the context but modern in its interpretation. This podium supports slender tower forms which take advantage of views and light.
A dynamic façade
The design of the towers relies on strong horizontal banding via exposed slab edges, and smaller scale facade elements set within the horizontal bands. The dynamic arrangement of façade materials varies the appearance of the building from surrounding viewpoints. Â

To ensure each apartment level reflects the level of individuality of the homes within, the building façade was designed around a micro solution based on a floor-by-floor response rather than a continuous repetition.Â
Elegant luxury in every home
The building has been designed to offer residents the experience of a luxury hotel. It features extravagant shared spaces including an executive lounge and gym, a luxury pool and an internal garden sanctuary, as well as full concierge service.
Each apartment has been meticulously planned to maximise the spectacular views in all directions and the abundant natural light.Â
