LUXURY ACCOMMODATION IN HARMONY WITH NATURE
A new resort precinct on the shore of Lake Taupo, New Zealand, will be a world-class tourist attraction that redefines luxury.
Master planning New Zealand’s newest tourist destination
This project covers master planning and concept design for New Zealand’s newest tourist attraction on the shore of idyllic Lake Taupo – halfway between Auckland and Wellington on the North Island.Â
Centred around an ultra-luxurious lodge and skirted by a Department of Conservation reserve, the master plan for Te Hapua Bay Resort is in harmony with the breathtaking, world-renowned landscape.Â
Accommodation immersed in natural surrounds
The luxury lodge includes conference and restaurant facilities, as well as three levels of accommodation arranged around the site and immersed in natural surrounds.

These accommodation options, which range from 5-star to just below 4-star, were deliberately crafted to encompass a variety of different experiences – ranging from fully serviced lodge accommodation units to mews-style units and stand-alone spa villas.
Additional features within the proposed Te Hapua Bay Resort include a recreational pool building, café-restaurant, central hub building, gatehouse, observatory, artist-in-residence building, lodge building with spa and tea house, and chapel.
A holistic master plan
As well as the design itself, this project involved working closely with the developer to formulate concepts, marketing and branding for Epiphany Club Residences within the development.Â
