Redesigning for luxury
A SOUTH YARRA PENTHOUSE TRANSFORMED
The opportunity to redesign a penthouse apartment in South Yarra on Melbourne’s iconic Yarra River, combined with an adventurous client, called for a non-traditional approach to interior design.
Starting from the beginning for a new direction
Originally built in the 1990s, this was the first renovation of a sizeable apartment. The project offered the opportunity to showcase the practice’s expertise in interior design as well as interior styling, as the client’s brief also included a highly sophisticated European furniture and styling package.
The result was the conversion of the apartment into a sanctuary that withstand the test of time.

The project started by stripping the apartment bare, to create a blank canvas – a true opportunity for an interior designer to start from scratch and create a home with personality and style to suit the owner’s needs.
The ultimate conditions for a luxury interior designer
Through the layering of elements such as built-in joinery, feature lighting and the finest of finishes and textures – including vein-cut travertine – the penthouse was transformed into a high-end boutique apartment. This is now a place where the owner can be as comfortable entertaining friends as indulging in the comforts of home.
Gifted with generous spaces, a willing and adventurous client and an enviable location, the South Yarra penthouse refurbishment project provided the ideal brief for an interior designer.
Throughout the apartment natural light was in abundance, consequently light flooded the space that enabled an intense and more masculine palette of colours.
